Novecento

Based on the play Novecento Monologue by Italian writer Alessandro Baricco, this work portrays the moving life of the genius pianist Novecento, who never once set foot off the immigrant ship Virginia, which carried dreams and hopes to America in the early 1900s. Novecento’s story—living his entire life playing his own music on 88 piano keys—is presented as a musical theater piece with one actor and one pianist, told through the recollections of his friend Max.
